( ABOUT SUDAH )

Sudah_on heritage, art, food and family
Soedah was born from Jessica Voorwinde’s personal search for her Moluccan roots. As the granddaughter of Johannes Patty and Maria Sipasulta, she discovered how little was actually known about their migration story — even within the family. Together with her friend and partner Judith Öfner, she decided it was time to preserve that history. The result is a heartfelt project about family, heritage, and identity. About cooking as memory, silence as survival, and what is lost when stories go untold. Soedah is a book, a podcast, and a digital platform — but above all, an invitation to listen, to recognize, and to hold on to what is valuable. Soedah, which roughly means “never mind” or “it’s fine as it is,” becomes a gentle counter-movement here: a call to not ignore your origins, but to honor them — in scent, flavor, image, and memory.
